Consistent Writing

I wrote on this blog about a year ago that I was going to be more consistent with writing. Well, how did that go? I wrote a few more blogs after that and then I went silent. I apologize if you were looking for some consistent insight into my world but life/work got in the way.  Here I am a year later writing again. Hopefully this time I will be more consistent. Please send me messages of things you might like me to write about. I will recap some of the trips I have planned this summer.  My son graduated from High School this year and will be heading off to college. I decided not to run for city council but throw my support behind some other well qualified candidates. With all that I should have more time to write.  I'm going to work on some things to write about and I'll be back tomorrow with a list of some topics and dates soo you will know when to read my blog.

Where Have I Been?

The title of this article is apropos since I haven't blogged in almost 12 years. I plan to start this blog up again and try to blog on a consistent basis. I will also be broadening the topics that I write about. Be sure to subscribe so you can get notifications about when I post. So what have I been up to since that October day in 2013 when I made my last blog? Let me recap for you. When that post happened I was in the middle of my Toastmaster journey and I'm happy to say that I crossed the Toastmaster finish line by earning my DTM. I didn't continue in Toastmasters after that since I changed jobs and took my leadership skills to Mathnasium and started running a Mathnasium in Blaine MN in 2016. I got the opportunity to blend my education degree with my MBA and use it as the Director of the Mathnasium in Blaine. I also had the opportunity to be the director at one in St Louis Park and one in  Andover. I ran these until 2023 when I decided to go back into the classroom and t...

Politics

I am examining the seven common missteps of selfish leadership as identified in the article “What Makes a True Leader” written by Jerold Aust from “The Good News” magazine . We looked at the first misstep which was schmoozing. The second aspect of a selfish leader is Politics. As in schmoozing you might wonder why politics is bad. Politics is bad for a number of reasons. Politics is self serving. Many people who practice politics say what people what to hear so they can be voted into an office. Politics can be described as another way to schmooze. A person may want something so they play the game to get what they want. Politics can also become a series of mud slinging in which a person will say negative things to bring the other person down. Think about our Presidential campaigns. Think about how negative they become. That is politics they want to earn the votes for that office so they try their hardest to shed negative light on their opponent. They really should be...

Bin Laden

Bin Laden, the mastermind behind 9/11 has been killed. After almost ten years since the devastating attack of 9/11 a covert operation by American special forces have found and killed Osama Bin Laden. This is great news, good job! Two questions arise from this monumental incident. Will this drastically change the face of terrorism in the world? I do not believe it will. America and the world should still be alert and on guard. I believe that this incident may even increase the possibility of terrorism. It will be viewed as retaliation for the killing of their leader. Don't let your guard down, stay vigilant America. The second question: Did Barack Obama just solidify himself a second term as President? I think he did. This may seem callous but President Obama just accomplished what America has been trying to do for almost ten years. This will be a huge feather in his cap. The only way he could mess it up is if he continues to lead our nation down the primrose path of socialism. ...

A Nation in Transition

For those of you who are fans of my blog I am going to make an effort to blog nightly, or at least every other night. A lot has happened since I last wrote and far too much to talk about today. We live in a country that is changing daily and much of it for the worse. This is turning into an America we will not recognize. America needs to get back to business by relying on small business and the innovation of the nations citizens. America cannot become a nation dependent upon the government to meet the needs of the citizens. We all need to rise up and reclaim our nation by fighting for capitalism and starting businesses that show the innovation and drive of Americans. I would like to hear what you are doing to combat the purveying sense of socialism that is overcoming our nation? Are you embracing socialism or fighting against it by getting back to the roots of America, capitalism?

March Madness

It is that time of year again, March Madness. hen the college basketball tournaments are driving everyone mad with excitement. There is nothing that beats an overtime thriller or a Cinderella upset. It is the time of year where dreams are made and dreams are dashed all on the same court. It is not just basketball that is madness but our economy is in turmoil. There isn't a bailout available that will really help the economy. Instead we must let some failure happen and purge the process. It is then that we will get back on our feet and survive this bailout madness and the decline of our economy. Basketball is a little escape from the craziness of the economy. It is nice to have a little respite among the madness. Don't forget we get to fill out our brackets and follow our favorite team. Mine has lost in both the men's and the women's tournament. The Golden Gophers didn't have it to find success this year. Maybe they could use a bailout.

A LOT HAS HAPPENED

I'm sorry! It has been a while since I last wrote. A lot has happened since then. The economy is in a recession the government is giving away all of our tax money and the socialist Democrats are going to be taking over and driving the economy further into the ground. Despite everything that is happening it has been history in the making for the recent Presidential race. For the first time ever America elected an African American President. It is great to be witness to history in the making. Let's hope Barack Obama does a great job as President. It is difficult times and I don't envy anyone who has to run this country considering the problems we are currently having. To top it all off the Twins lost the central division in a one game playoff, the Timberwolves stink and there has been the call for Brad Childress' job. The Wild are still good and the Gopher football team sure made an improvement.

Increase In Troops

Just this past week President Bush called for an increase in troops in Iraq. It was immediately met with consternation and outrage by those on the left. They are under the impression that the public voted them into office to help facilitate the pulling out of our troops from Iraq. They could not be more wrong! The public voted because we are not winning the war and we need to step up and show why we are the only super power left in the world. We need to stay in Iraq until it is safe to let Iraq control their own country. This will only come with victory and letting America do what we do best, defend and defeat the "Axis of Evil". President Bush is making it clear that he will not back down from the terrorists or even the liberals. Maybe they are one in the same? He is asking for more troops to be deployed to help speed up the process and this will then enable us to bring all of our troops home. The liberals in congress and the house need to let the President do his jo...

Happy New Year

Well, another year has past and the older you get the quicker those years slip by. Remember when you were a kid, it seemed like you would never get older and those years seemed to drag by. Then as you got older those years started to speed up and there is no way to stop them. Have you made preparations for 2007? 2007 is already shaping up to be a busy political year. The Democrats think they are in charge and they have started to flex their political muscle to try and tell the Republicans who is in charge. They forget that our government allows us the use of checks and balances and give them a few days and they will be messing up and in 2008 they will be voted out of office. Have you vowed to stand firm on your principles and make the most out of your life. Now is the time to make a resolution that you really will keep and that is worth keeping. Unlike the democrats they will be unable to live up to their false promises.

Giving Thanks

It is two days before Thanksgiving and it is time to reflect on those things that we can give thanks for. Just yesterday a group of Muslims were removed from a plane in Minneapolis as it taxied and readied for takeoff. These Muslims were standing in the plane and praying, they were asked to sit down and they refused. They were then removed from the flight. Was the reason they were asked to sit down because they were Muslim or because they were in violation of safety rules on a crowded airplane? I think it was a safety issue. It is nice to know that we live in a country where we can pray. It doesn't matter whether you are Muslim, Buddhist, Christian, Jew or some other religion. You have a right to worship any god that you want to worship. The problem is there are safety issues involved when standing on a plane that is getting ready for takeoff. It is also interesting to note that if you are a Christian and you decided to pray or worship Jesus in a public setting and it was i...

Rosie O'Donnell

When Rosie O’Donnell said “radical Christianity is just as threatening as radical Islam in a country like the United States,” she generated a lot of controversy. Various segments of the population – especially those who are conservative Christians – had a strong reaction to her words. To learn how Americans react to a television personality challenging the nation’s most widespread faith, read the latest Barna Update. To get this free, brief report, click here on the link below or go to www.barna.org and click on the main story. Please read the full story of the above excerpt from the Barna Group. I would like to comment on those words spoken by Ms. O'Donnell. These words were likely spoken out of hate and based on the images that the dinosaur media projects about Evangelical Christians. Statements like these from celebrities are generally shallow and based on no foundation of truth. If Rosie O'Donnell were to really dig deep and read both the Bible and the Koran she would sh...

The Aftermath

Well, it is the day after election day. The Republicans are licking their wounds and the democrats are celebrating. However all is not lost. We need to remember that if you are a Christian that you do not hang your hat on the results of these elections. God is still on the throne and still in control. There are many things positive or negative that can be taken from this night. Many of the democrats that won are moderates. That could and hopefully will send a message to the likes of Nancy Pelosi that America is not as liberal as she thinks. All of the bans on same-sex marriages were passed. Praise the Lord for family and the sanctity of marriage. We should be concentrating on solving the problem of divorce not allowing people to marry anyone or any thing and I think America has spoken. This also gives the Democrats two years to mess up and not win the 08 Presidential campaign and lose seats in 08. It also hopefully sent a message to the Republicans to stand firm on their platform and d...

Mel Gibson

All of hollywood is screaming that Mel Gibson is an Anti-semite because of racial slurs he made while drunk. I do not at all condone his behavior and it is absolutely wrong for him to make such comments. But it is interesting to note that those who scream and call him names are the very ones screaming for the United States to not support Israel. Seems to me they are the true Anti-Semites. They don't want Israel to protect themselves from terrorists instead they want them to stop the protecting and sit back and get killed themselves. Those in Hollywood should look at reality and stop hiding behind the fictious world that they live in and have created for themselves. Mel has apologized and I hope he makes amends for his words. Now it is time for Hezbollah to apologize to Israel and make amends for their actions.

What are they afraid of?

The following link is an article by Jeff Johnson. The article outlines and discusses the democrats unification against the privatization of social security. What are the Democrats afraid of? Are they afraid they won't have enough money to use for their self serving social programs. Because if we privatize social security it will take money and keep it safe for each worker until they retire. Right now all the social security money is just puyt into an account and many politicians view that money as fair game to use as they please. Thus burdening and bankrupting social security. Also, we have about 4 workers supporting one soon it will be one to one. I know when I retire I would like to receive some money from social security, after all I have put enough into it. http://www.gopusa.com/news/2005/march/0303_dems_socsec.shtml

Compassion, I don't think so!

The following article is by Albert Mohler and he discusses a law that is being introduced in California. I don't know about you but this is not what compassion is all about. Those liberals who believe this is the compassionate thing to do need to examine what compassion is really about. Those who were against abortion said this would be the next step. Those in favor said no way. Now we see our worst fears playing out. We cannot allow the left to railroad us into believing this is compassion. It is murder!! For more on this my daughters blog talks about Terri Schiavo. http://www.melissaspeaksout.blogspot.com/ California Compassion Kills —Albert Mohler California is going to consider legalizing assisted suicide. State assembly members Petty Berg and Lloyd Levine--both Democrats--have sponsored what they call the "California Compassionate Choices Act," modeled after Oregon's infamous assisted suicide law. This is an ominous development, and the act's sponsors t...

Debunking Bushwhacking

The following is a little debate my daughter is involved in and I couldn't help myself but I got involved in it too. My statements are the first anonymous and at the end. To read the whole thing follow this link http://usdlaw.blogspot.com/2005/01/bushwhacking.html At 9:24 PM , Anonymous said... I'm sorry, but reading all of this is very disturbing. Chemist, you really need to understand bible theology better because Jesus came to this earth to die a horrible and gruesome death to save all of us from our pitiful and sinful selfs. But He also said "He is the Way the Truth and the Life and no one comes to the Father except through him." It is only by us repenting and humbling ourselves to him and seeking forgiveness and then putting our trust in Him that we will be saved. He also said He came with a sward in His hand. Sure be nice to people is correct and helping others as well. But Jesus never said it was governments role to help the poor it is the churchs role...
