Weekend Festivals

One thing I used to do on this blog was to write about festivals in Minnesota. Every Friday during the summer, I am going to give you a list of some things you can do in and around Minnesota to enjoy what cities and towns have to offer.  Maybe you are a music person and you like to go to music festivals. If art is your thing then an art festival might be in the offing. Maybe sports are your thing and you want to know about local sporting events. Or maybe you just want to experience a bit of Americana and see what small towns, suburbs, and big cities are doing to celebrate their town. What is happening June 19th - 21st. Festival Friday

If you have been following my blog you know that it is about leadership but on the weekends write about fun things to do. I like to call it leisureship. There is a website my wife found that lists the top 50 festivals in the United States. One of the biggest and most famous festivals to occur in the United States was Woodstock. A big music festival going on this weekend in Manchester Tennessee, you still have time to attend, is the Bonnaroo Music ...

As a leader finding ways to relax can sometimes be a challenge. I hope to give you many alternatives every weekend of the year. Yesterday we looked at the arts and gave you some options for viewing the visual arts, movies excluded. Today we are going to look at music I am currently listening to some great music on my computer as I write this blog. I can create a playlist and start it playing. Then I sit back, write and enjoy the inspiring music. In this day and age with Ipods, MP3s, cell phones and tablets we have the option to carry with us hundreds even thousands of music titles and listen to them on the go. One day this weekend I would like for you to not take your music with you. Instead I want you to dock your ipod or create a computer playlist, find a comfortable easy chair in your house, get something soothing to drink, sit back and escape for an hour in some of your favorite music. Leaders need that time to just unwind and listening to your favorite music in a relaxing ch...
