Autocratic Leadership

Autocratic Leadership is a style that is not conducive for most situations. The autocratic leader is someone who really controls the workers. It is almost like a dictatorship in which the leader tells the workers what they have to do and it better be done.

If you are in an office setting this style of leadership may lead to worker despair and high turnover on the job. Majority of people do not want to be controlled by an autocratic leader. The workers end up looking for something else because they cannot work under those oppressive situations.

This style also will not allow the workers to have a say in their jobs. The motto "It's my way or the highway" is adopted by the leader. Following them and respecting them becomes a difficult task.

However, not all is bad in certain situations where routine is king and unskilled labor is present it may be necessary to implement this style of leadership. This style can be used but in small doses and under very controlled circumstances. Be careful to not get so power hungry you may find yourself using this one quite often. The results will not be good.

Show your true leadership and avoid the autocratic leadership style.
