HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Keep following this blog in 2013 for new and exciting information on Leadership and Leisureship. In the coming weeks look for a recap of some of my favorites from 2012 and a look into the future of this blog.

Are You A Legend?

There have been many books written, seminars given and speeches listened to that involve leadership. For every person that is out there talking and discussing leadership there is the same number of ideas about leadership. Each of us have a duty as leaders to share our knowledge and expertise in the area of leadership. I started this blog with the intent to share my insights into leadership. Sometimes what I say might click other times it might miss the mark. That doesn’t mean if it misses the mark for you that it didn’t click for someone else. Through this blog I have presented many different leadership styles and comparisons. I’ve looked at articles and discussed those as well. I have even devoted time to leisure, after all leaders need time to decompress and the weekends are spent exploring ways a leader can enjoy leisure. I am currently creating a Legends of Leadership page. Through this I highlight people who are legends in their leadership. I want to include those people you ...

Constant Leadership

If you have been a regular follower of my blog you know that I am currently doing a leadership series on leadership legends. I will continue to do that series but it will be one that I will occasionally write. I am stepping away from it to write about other leadership topics. I could spend the rest of my time adding people to the legends of leadership circle. If you know of anyone who you would like to see spotlighted as a leadership legend please let me know who to contact so I can interview them and get them in the spotlight on my blog. Have you ever realized that despite your best efforts to step away from your leadership duties you find yourself pulled back in. Maybe you find yourself taking on leadership roles in your child’s activities. Maybe you are taking on a leadership role in areas you never thought you would. Leadership is a constant thing. You may be a leader at home even though you would prefer to relax and do nothing. You may find yourself delegating chores, b...

I am going to start a new series on leadership. It is called leadership legends. I would like to over a period of five days look at some legendary leaders. People who were on the cutting edge of leadership. People who changed the way people think about leadership and the way we view leaders today. I need your help. I would like suggestions on who I should use for the legends of leadership. I want this to be you finding those people who have shaped the face of leadership. I believe that each and everyone of us are leaders there is something in our life that helps us be leaders. You might not be a leader in your job but maybe you are at home. Maybe you lead a group at church or your child's sports team. Whatever it is we all need those role models, those legends that we look to so we leader Find me those leaders. Sure I can come up with some. I already have some in mind but I want you to have a voice in this. Who do you know that falls into the category of a legend of leadershi...

Building a Team

I would like to start a new series on leadership. This series will focus on building a team. Think for a moment that you are starting a business or need a project team. You will be the leader it is time to build your team. If you have been following my blog you know I like to think of a creative way to present the topic. I am going to relate building a leadership team with baseball. Baseball is a team and requires many positions working in unison to be successful. During this series you will be the coach and you have to build a team that consists of a Pitcher, Catcher, 1st Baseman, 2nd baseman, shortstop, 3rd baseman, and the three outfield positions. I will look at the qualities to be good at those particular positions and relate it to the type of worker and leader you need for your project. I am looking forward to presenting this series. Tomorrow we will look at the pitcher role. Play Ball!!

Decade Leadership Again

I hope you have been enjoying my series on decade leadership. I have been enjoying writing it. We are coming to the weekend and I will resume the Decade Leadership series again on Monday. I am still looking for comments and suggestions for other leadership concepts and ideas you would like me to address. If you want to review the Decade Leadership series go ahead and re-read some of the articles. I also did a fun article that compared leadership with certain superheroes. You can review those again. In the meantime return to my blog often and review many of the articles. Also this weekend enjoy my ongoing series that looks at leisureship. This series looks at ways leaders can relax on the weekend. That is what I will be looking at tomorrow. Thanks for reading.

Writing it Down

Are you a writer? If so maybe you could spend some time journaling this weekend. If you enjoy doing it it is a great way to relax. There are people who journal every day and write about things they love. In this day and age of technology writing with a pen and paper is old school. Instead people are tweeting about what they are doing and many people use a blog to convey their message. The nice thing about journaling now days is that you can share what you love with others. It doesn't have to be sealed away in a book and hiding in your secret hiding place. You can write it on a blog and share your favorite things with others. If you have hobbies or some passion you can write about that on a daily basis. It is a great way to escape the leadership grind and share the things you love with everyone who reads your blog/journal. This year I said to myself I was going to blog everyday about something I love. I have a passion for leadership so I share information and knowledge about lea...
